ESFJ 1w2s are usually assertive, influential, and perfectionists. Their strong values can make them seem intimidating. The extent to which this applies often depends on the wing. In other words, type 2 and their extroverted feeling (Fe) function make this bearable.

So, ESFJ 1w2s are often seen as role models or great leaders. If their wing is strong, they will care for the underdogs and show lots of generosity towards them.

Type 1 is not a common type for ESFJs because it can directly clash with the presence of the Fe function. As we will see, ESFJ 1w2s can differ greatly from the typical ESFJ.

ESFJ 1w2s will almost always be ESFJ-A.

What is the Core Desire of the  ESFJ 1w2?

The core desire of the ESFJ 1w2 is to be good and be seen as good. The difference here is that ESFJ 1w2s are more interested in being seen as good in society. Thus, their views often merge with the public’s opinions.

This differs from all other types that use the introverted feeling (Fi) function. These types are more likely to stick to their principles and want to be seen as good in relation to those principles, even when they go against the norm.

The core fear of the ESFJ 1w2 is to be evil or seen as evil. They are afraid of losing their integrity or principles.

How the 1w2 Changes  the Natural Tendencies of the ESFJ

1.   Higher Standards

As with most type 1s, ESFJ 1w2s have higher standards. These standards apply throughout their lives. For example, they will have higher standards when organizing their clothes or the type of food they eat.

While this is true, they will not force their standards on others because of their Fe function.

2.   More Intense

ESFJs are a friendly bunch. This is also true of ESFJ 1w2s to an extent. There’s an edge to them that’s perhaps missing in ESFJs. This makes them more intense and intimidating. This has its pros, as ESFJ 1w2s are often taken more seriously than typical ESFJs.

Their intensity also extends to their internal structure. In other words, their intensity breeds focus and passion.

3.   Tactful With a Twist

ESFJs and ENFJs are the most tactful types in the MBTI. ESFJ 1w2 inherits these qualities with a twist; they have a breaking point. In other words, they will approach most situations tactfully. However, their tactfulness does not tolerate traits such as rudeness or laziness.

People might be surprised how they can quickly change from being tactful to full-blown confrontational.

4.   Higher Work Ethic

ESFJs work really hard. However, ESFJ 1w2s take this to another level because they often work on two fronts: for themselves and others with very high standards.

For this reason, people usually see them as reliable and effective. They can climb quickly up the corporate ladder.

5.   Possibly Higher Moral Standards

ESFJs might have moral standards, but those are second to their need for group harmony. ESFJ 1w2 is the reverse. Their moral or ethical standards come first, but only just. This is further blurred because they almost always seem to stick with the majority.

This has its pros. ESFJ 1w2s can have high standards while making many people happy. The problem is answering the question: Is their stance really the right one?

6.   More Goal-Oriented

ESFJs can be accused of being a bit scattered despite being a judger. When we say scattered, we don’t mean in organization; we mean when setting goals. They are often too focused on others that they neglect themselves. Not this ESFJ.

ESFJ 1w2s are more focused on themselves and hitting their targets, which makes them more balanced. This focus also directly translates to healthier boundaries.

New Weaknesses of the ESFJ 1w2

1.   Self-Criticism

One of the weaknesses of type 1 is self-criticism, which is directly caused by their high standards. When they fail to meet these standards, they get angry and might lash out at others, which can be worse in ongoing situations.

For example, if the ESFJ 1w2s find themselves in a job they believe is beneath them, they can lash out at their subordinates.

It can get messy.

2.   Fe vs Type 1

The eternal struggle between Fe and type 1 is one reason why ESFJ 1w2s might never meet their high standards. Fe is too focused on pleasing others, while type 1 is the opposite. The problem with type 1 is that type 2 directly compliments Fe.

So, ESFJ 1w2s can never win. However, if they handle this properly, they can become balanced.

3.   Anger Issues

Like all type 1, ESFJ 1w2 will have issues with anger. Their first emotion is usually anger laced with frustration. This anger is internalized and often shows in how they lash out at people.

The presence of type 2 helps to reduce its impact. Regardless, their vulnerability to anger often shocks their admirers.

4.   Workaholics

ESFJ 1w2 will be workaholics because of their desires of their enneagram types. Type 1 wants to attain perfection, while type 2 wants to be the perfect helper.

So, ESFJ 1w2s are usually on a quest to achieve perfection in both areas. As you probably know, perfection is impossible, but that won’t stop them from trying.

ESFJ 1w2 in the Workplace

ESFJs enjoy working with others. They do well in areas requiring persuasion, people skills, and a routine.

ESFJ 1w2s are the same. They want to impact the world and the organization in which they work for. They do better in well-defined work structures. This personality type will succeed in almost all work environments.
